In these Terms and Conditions, the following terns have meanings as defined below.
(1) ‘the Company’ means Kampu Ferry Co., Ltd.
(2) ‘User’ means a person who uses an online reservation service run by the Company after agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.
(3) ‘Reservation’ means a method of making reservation through an online reservation service run by the Company using a credit card for payment.
1. These Terms and Conditions apply to the online reservation service.
2. For matters not provided for in these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by Conditions of Carriage (Transportation of Passengers) stipulated by the Company, online reservations terms of use, guidance on the Company’s website, or credit card membership terms and conditions.
3. By posting to the Company’s website, the Company may amend these Terms and Conditions, terms of use, or a description. Users agree to the changed contents by clicking on the ‘Agree’ button.
1. Online Reservation Service is a service for Users to make reservation or to cancel a reservation of a ferry operated by the Company, using the Internet and a method designated by the Company.
2. Online Reservation Service is available 24 hours a day, except during system maintenance.
3. Online Reservation Service is unavailable for Users boarding with a vehicle.
1. A reservation is established after the completion of following procedures:
(1) A User enters the required information on the reservation form between the reservation start day (separately determined) and 13:00 on the day prior to the day of embarkation.
(2) The User complete the payment by any credit card issued by companies designated by the Company.
(3) A reservation number is displayed on the screen of website.
(4) the Company sends an email confirming the reservation.
2. Enter correct passenger information. It is not possible to make changes after the establishment of reservation.
3. Stipulated rules of discount are applied to online purchases (except during the special season).
4. Operations pertaining to credit card payments will be outsourced to credit card payment service providers.
5.The applicable age of the fare is based on the date of boarding. If the age on the date of departure is different from the age category selected at the time of purchase, it is necessary to adjust the fare difference.
1. For reservation confirmation at the port of embarkation, Users should present the reservation completion screen or the confirmation email at the port of embarkation, or bring a print-out copy of the screen or email. To ensure the security of card transaction, boarding passes cannot be issued unless a reservation is confirmed. In the case that the User cannot confirm their reservation, the User should purchase a boarding ticket once again.
2. A valid passport should be presented.
3. On the day of embarkation, embarkation procedures should be completed before the time designated by the Company.
4. If any errors are found in the information entered at the time of reservation, normal fares determined by the Company will be collected.
5. Fuel surcharge, Facility usage charge and International tourist tax should be collected separately from the fare, at the time of boarding procedure.
1. Cancellation of a reservation should be completed through Online Reservation Service, before 18:30 on the departure date. Additional charges prescribed by the Company will be applied to the cancellation of a reservation.
2. Reservations are unchangeable. An existing reservation should be cancelled and a new reservation will be required.
Following acts are prohibited when using the Online Reservation Service.
(1) Acts to violate law, these Terms and Conditions, or Conditions of Carriage stipulated by the Company.
(2) False or unjust reservation.
(3) Acts which unreasonably interfere with the Online Reservation Service and bring disadvantages to the Company.
(4) Violation of the right of other Users or the third party, that may result in damage to them.
(5) Acts judged to be socially inappropriate by the Company.
Due to server maintenance or to an urgent necessity of system stoppage, the Company may temporarily stop the Online Reservation Service without notice.
1. As the Online Reservation Service have a limit in its capacity, it is unable to offer a service beyond its limit.
2. To secure the encryption strength and the function of the Online Reservation Service, the Company may restrict the use of some devices or software applications. Users should prepare a usage environment at their own expense.
3. If a reservation operation is not completed within 30 minutes, the Company will discontinue the Online Reservation Service without saving the entered information to ensure the security of personal information. The tentative reservation is invalidated, and the Company shall not be responsible for the disadvantage of the Users.
A settlement date of a credit card payment is the day when the User makes a reservation or a cancellation request.
1. If the User causes inconvenience or damage to others by using the Online Reservation Service, the responsibility shall be resolved between the parties, and the Company will not be held responsible.
2. The Company shall not be responsible for any disadvantage or damage to a User caused by an unavailability of the Online Reservation Service due to the reason speculated in Article 8, 9 or to a failure in the communication environment.
All conflicts that may arise between parties regarding the Online Reservation Service that cannot be settled by the parties themselves shall be finally settled according to the legislation of Japan, at the court which has jurisdiction over the location of the Company’s Shimonoseki head office.
Supplementary Provision
These Terms and Conditions shall become effective on September 1st 2019.
